Before you continue, please be sure to read the part one.
In school , Joyce pretended to have a normal life but she felt lonely all the time and never considered herself to fit in. She was not allowed after school life, never participated in anything because her father would think she was out doing something with a boy. *Guilt always breeds suspicion*
She had no friends, she wasn’t allowed to date or attend parties. She began to see love as a pretty perverted thing.
When she was 9 yrs old, her father took her to a female relative’s house and told her that he was going to have sex with the relative and how she(the relative) enjoys it and then tells her in graphic details the things they did. This was all in the bid to encourage her young mind that it was an okay thing to do.
By the time she was 12 yrs old, her father progressed from molestation to rape. He didn’t force her physically but used manipulation, control, threats and lies to get what he wanted. He did that at least once a week till she was 18. Cumulatively, her father raped her a minimum of 200 times before she was 18 yrs old.
*The biggest black eye you can give to the devil is to give God your pain and He will turn it to your gain. Give Him your mess and it will become your message*
In her teens, her father usually got drunk and forced her to have sex with him at the back seat of the car. Then one day, a police man caught him molesting her inside the car. How relieved she was that finally someone would help her and rescue her from her father. Unfortunately, the police man said he would let them go only if he would be allowed to have sex with Joyce (her father had told the police man that Joyce was his cousin). Fortunately for Joyce, the Police man got a call on his radio and he left.
Joyce tried severally to talk to relatives about her situation. They simply told her they don’t believe her because they didn’t want to get involved. She found that no one, not the relatives nor the police, were going to help her so she made up her mind to survive.
When she became old enough to drive, he would take her every Sunday afternoon for driving lessons. Then he will take her to the grave yard to have sex with her in the car.
One day, while her mom went to the hospital, Joyce summoned courage to write her father a long letter telling him how dirty all these made her feel, how many bathes she takes in a day while trying to get rid of the feeling and she begged him to stop. When her father returned from his night duty at midnight, he came into her room raving and ranting. In fear, Joyce apologized for ever writing the letter.
In later years, Joyce had to learn to forgive her father. It was not easy but she was able to totally forgive him. God had asked her to bring her parents closer to where she lived with her husband and children. Joyce hesitated but obeyed. *God will never tell you to do anything if it wasn’t going to work out for your good*
One day, her father asked her over and apologized to her in tears, begging for forgiveness. He received Christ that day and got baptized 10 days later. He died in 2007 a changed man.
*Joyce Meyer is an evidence that God can totally heal our abused past...totally. No side effects.
