WORDSHARE: The forbidden tree.The forbidden fruit. The forbidden knowledge.

For those looking elsewhere for knowledge, don't. Everything you need to know is in Christ. Col 2:3. In Him lies hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. 'All' not 'some'. 

I had a friend who wanted extra knowledge years back in my first year at the University. For some reason he wanted to attend a meeting by the Grail Message people and fortunately he told me. I had one word for him - "Don't". Then I told him, "All the knowledge you need is in Jesus. What else are you going there for?"

 

These people offer you knowledge. Remember, knowledge was what the Serpent sold to Eve and it brought about the fall of Man. Yes, that knowledge is still on sale even today. 

 

They offer you knowledge into something more. They tell you the Bible knowledge is not all it; that Jesus is not what you need. They want to open your 3rd eye or your 6th sense to the 'spiritual' but what you don't know is, just like Adam and Eve, they are taking you on a journey to the dark side. 

 

Knowledge. Is it not said that knowledge is power? So by offering you knowledge they intend to make you powerful and 'god-like'. When the Serpent offered Eve the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, he said to her, 

"...for you will be like God, knowing what is good and evil. "

God told Adam that eating of the tree of knowledge of good and evil would bring death. But the Serpent told Eve,"You won't die! God knows your eyes will be opened as soon as you eat it, and you will be like God, knowing both good and evil." (Gen 3:4,5)

 

What they didn't know was that the Serpent was inviting them to a life of disobedience, a fallen nature and to a dark side. 

 

Today, various sects or cult groups offer you knowledge: Free mason, Eckankar, Grail Message, Kabala etc. I am sure you have heard of the seven books of Moses, right? Knowledge = power. 

But concerning knowledge Paul says, "Christ is God's mysterious plan. In Him lies all treasures of wisdom and knowledge. I am telling you this so no one will deceive you with well crafted arguments." (Col 2:2,3)

 

He adds in Col 2:8 "Don't let anyone capture you with 'empty philosophies' and 'high sounding nonsense' (yes, it's all nonsense no matter how high sounding it maybe) that come from 'human thinking' and from the 'spiritual powers of this world', rather than from Christ." 

What else can I say about the so-called knowledge these people are selling: they are demon-inspired and purely a fragment of human imagination and reasoning. All the knowledge you seek is in Christ. He is Wisdom and knowledge of God! 

Okay, let me put it this way - all you should do is to know  Jesus. Find Him, gain wisdom. Don't eat of the forbidden fruit anymore. They are nothing but lies and deceit, getting you no where but to the dark side. Be vigilant.
