Lyudmila Sadryeva, 40, was pictured with her child in an online poster which offered him for £2,400.
The wording read: “Selling a child for organs.”
The boy was described on the online advertising site as “absolutely healthy”.
But she claimed it was posted by a flatmate with whom she had fallen out, and police are now investigating her claims with a criminal case probing the role of the other - unnamed - woman now underway in the Russian city of Chelyabinsk.
The former friend posted the vile message in an act of revenge, and it led to her being threatened, she alleged.
“It was very scary, and I am still afraid,” she said.
“People recognized me on the street, there's a picture of both my baby and me.
“I was threatened, mainly by men, saying that they would find me, kill me: 'We will bury you, you are an animal'.”
Women called to her praying to take away her child if she doesn't want to raise him by herself.
She had to stop taking her child to nursery school because she faced criticism from other parents.
Police have opened a criminal case into the incident.
The other woman moved out of the flat and is facing interrogation over allegation she posted the advertisement in a revenge attack.
