“No Northerner would appreciate such a programme. No core northerner will participate in a programme like the Big Brother Naija because of the immoral act involved.
“The show is immoral and we do not participate in such. No responsible child of a northern benefactor will participate. Even the non Muslim, if they have proper upbringing, you cannot see them participating in the act of immorality.
“We have an identity, we have culture and our religion. We know how we look at life and how we go about it.
“Is it about the oral sex they are talking about or the irresponsibility? What is there to learn? It is totally out of place. It will be difficult for a northerner to participate.
But he President of the youth wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, David Daniel Karza, is not in total agreement with Yerima.“I think big brother naija will have to do something better than they are doing now because I think a time will come that definitely a responsible government will come and do something about it.
“You will hardly see a core Arewa participating because of their values and culture.” He said
Although, Karza agreed that contents of the Big Brother Naija show and videos that people especially the youths “watch on television must be very significant in molding their moral and spiritual lives,” he, however, maintained that, “Big Brother Naija reality show has done so well in showcasing some of our cultural heritage in Nigeria and has brought together youths across different ethnic/religious groups in Nigeria.”
He also said the Big Brother Naija show, “will definitely promote unity and open an opportunity to share good common values that can build a better understanding on how we can collectively coexist peacefully for the progress of our country and beyond.”
He noted that there are some aspects of the show that are immoral, therefore, calling on the youths to “use Colossians 3:5-7 to guide their activities in the Big Brother Naija Reality TV Show. This will promote Godliness and dignify the show which in turn will appeal to the conscience of all to keep watching and probably encourage their children to also register and participate.”
He also said Muslims should as well “participate to share with their counterparts their belief and practices in Islam and how it can necessitate modifications.
*What kind of cultural heritage is BBnaija promoting cos sincerely I don't see it. Like every other Big Brother shows all over the world, it promotes sexual immorality. Big Brother shows thrive on sexual immorality. Believe me, if sex is not involved in this show, people won't watch it and that means low patronage, and less money. Sex sells.
In truth I felt disappointed with the CAN youth leader after reading his thoughts about BBNaija. The Arewa youth leader made so much sense. Kai!

I believe this show can be used in the right way to foster unity and showcase our cultural heritage. But I guess the organizers are more interested in the money than in morality. In fact the randier, the better. They love sex and controversy. Look at some of the games they asked the housemates to carry out. What were they all about? Culture? When they paired them, male to female, what was their intent? Culture?
You guess is as good as mine.
What is there to support about this Arewa people Mitchell? These people are hypocrites. Do they force people to engage in sex in the house? I have been watching big brother Africa since inception and almost all the winers of bba never engaged in sex. It is in this bbn that I have seen someone that engaged in sexual immorality win. Muslims are hypocrites there is nothing the want to tell or preach to anybody about immorality because there religion alone reeks immorality. They would not go to bbn but the all are homosexuals, hypocrites, the would not go to bbn but the would marry a 5 yr old girl. VVF everywhere in that north. They won't go for bbn but would carry bomb and go and bomb innocent human beings that didn't do anything to them? Bia Mitchelle don't even start with this your analysis abeg. Immorality is more in the north than any other state in this Nigeria ask people in the north. Hypocrites to the highest level.

DeleteThe comment I made up there is me simply saying that what the Arewa youths president said should have been the CAN youth's stance on BBN but instead it was the other way round.
If BBN was not out to condone sexual immorality, they would have put up measures to check it in the first place. I don't think any housemate receives a strike for any sexually immoral act, do they? Rather than promoting unity, BBN is promoting lewdness and yes, that is actually what keeps most people hooked to the programme.
Please don't take my comment (which is my personal opinion)out of context. I am merely saying what I felt about, not just BBN but Big Brother Shows generally. It is not an opinion to support or diss anyone.
