Happy Sunday fam! I actually call today the Lord's day. Lol. Quick question: When Love and the gift of performing miracles are placed side by side which will you choose?
I once asked this question at the youth church and the answer I got was LOVE! When Jesus was asked what the greatest commandment was, He replied,
"Love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your mind and with all your strength. And another equally important commandment like it is this: Love your neighbor as you love yourself." Matt 22:37
The greatest commandment: Love towards God and love towards man. I looked at this and said to myself,
"Seriously, if we love God and man we can never go wrong cos whatever you will do, you will do it out of your love for God. You wouldn't want to disobey God because you know it will hurt Him. And when you love your fellow man, hmmmm, you will watch how you treat them too."
So, yes, love is what really matters. That's what every Christian should be pursuing. It really is one thing we Christians can't do without. But it's sad that most Christians don't have love.
We go to church, make sure we do everything our pastors says, we pay our tithes, clean the church premises, as a matter of fact we are so devout in doing the work of God but when God looks into our hearts, something's missing...love!
See, what ever you do without love means nothing to God.
If you give without love, if you pay your tithes without love, if you heal the sick without love, volunteer to help the old and sickly without love, if you share the gospel without love etc, it means nothing to God.
Love can't be pretended. It flows from the heart and God sees your heart. He weighs our motives. He knows when we do what we do out of our love for Him and our fellow man. Your action may be good but your motive for it was bad - God sees that. He weighs the heart.
So love flows in two ways: towards God and towards man. If your love flows only in one way, then your love is not complete. You must love God and you must love man. You can't love only God and despise man. Neither can you love man and despise God.
Pursue what really matters.
Shey you understand? Have a lovely day.
