Nice Response from Mc Abbey to Mike Bamiloye and Others .
Part1..
This to all, especially those myopic Christian that are holier than the Holy Spirit...heaven will shock plenty people.
Who is a comedian?
*A
comedian or comic, is a person who seeks to entertain an audience,
primarily by making them laugh. This might be through jokes or amusing
situations, or acting a fool, as in slapstick, or employing prop comedy.
A comedian who addresses an audience directly is called a stand-up
comic.* from Wikipedia *
*Talents
are gifts from God and how u use it is ur gift to God... Every Gift
existing today in mankind came from God and they are all parts of God so
much so that in God they all consist, and as we use this gifts rightly,
we bring glory,Joy and praises to our God " Revelation 4:11
[11]Thou
art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou
hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were
created." so first of all the gift of comedy which is the gift to make
people laugh is from God and when it is rightly used its an act of
worship cos God is pleasured when we walk in the fullness of the
capacity he has blessed us with, 1 Corinthians 12:4-9
[4]Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
[5]And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.
[6]And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.
[7]But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.
[8]For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;
[9]To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;
Laughter is one of the gifts of healing ...Proverbs 17:22
[22]A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.
...
So for those of you saying comedy is not suppose to be accommodated in
the church it's obvious that you lack understand so I will try and
enlighten you
Secondly,
bringing out clean humour from the scriptures is as it is and nothing
added "a joke" not vulgar or dirty, as long as it doesn't undermine the
power of the Godhead and the efficacy of all sacred thing in our faith
.no body is expected to take it serious into heart and practice because
it's just a clean joke simple. We tell you of funny things happening in
our Christian community and mix it up with reality ,sometimes we play
around clichés and slogans like a pastor wanting to get the attention of
his congregation saying "praise the Lord somebody " instead of "please
can I get your attention " just because he knows they will all respond
by default "hallelujah "... Now there is nothing blasphemous there. Even
if some comedians do say some filthy and blasphemous stuff that's not a
criteria to make a general statement that comedy is not good in church
if that's the case you should close down churches since we have lots of
fake ones too same for pastors.
Please
don't mislead people because of you position or your myopic dogmatic
believes, just show me what the scripture says don't just say it is
there....
Eph5:4
Let there be no filthiness and silly talk, or coarse [obscene or vulgar]
joking, because such things are not appropriate [for believers]; but
instead speak of your thankfulness [to God].
...it never said no jokes.
*Luke 6:21
[21]Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh.
There
is a sense of humour in everyone but there are some of us that God
blessed with much more so as to bring praises to him by working it to
his glory....
