Nora Roth, a Christian computer programmer has performed complex calculations which indicate the apocalypse will take place by the end of 2016.
On her website, MarkBeast.com, Nora wrote: “In the fall [autumn] 2016, the 6,000 years of sin on earth will come to an end, everlasting righteousness will be brought in, and Jesus will come again to take His people to heaven. Then the earth will begin its 1,000 years of rest.”
She continued,
"God gives each of us a period of time on earth as probation. This probationary period is our opportunity to repent and to have faith in Christ.
My probation and your probation will end sometime between now and the fall of 2016 and it may well be sooner rather than later.
The most important thing we can do right now is to give ourselves completely to God in humility and repentance and by faith to receive Jesus as our personal Savior."
Nora suggested the word "sevens" refers to a Jubilee cycle, which is a unit of time.
God also applied the same pattern on a larger scale and "told the children of Israel to plant and to harvest their land for six years and then let the land rest the seventh year", Nora added.
So a Jubilee Cycle is seven of these larger units followed by one year of rest, bringing the total to 50 years.
Nora added: "The 70 sevens prophecy in Daniel 9:24 has two fulfillments: first, the 70 sevens are 70 sabbatical cycles – 490 years, pointing to the first coming of Jesus as our Savior from sin.
*No matter how much we as man will want to mathematically analyze when the King is coming, we cannot. Jesus said no one knows the day nor the hour. The only clue He left us was the signs that will depict that His coming is near.
The only thing this so called predictions do is to harden the hearts of more and more people to receiving the gospel of Truth when these so called 'prophecies' fail.
I don't think it's my business to sit down and begin to calculate when the Lord will come. Cos I know any time He comes, I will be ready. The Bible said that that day will not come to genuine Christians as a surprise because they belong to the day.
Simply put, those who truly serve Jesus have a 'lifestyle of righteousness' in the open or in the secret and we have one duty; to warn people about what is to come so that they may turn to the saving knowledge of Jesus.
