The trending RCCG sacrificial form caused quite an uproar. I read comments and I saw that people were pretty agitated. How did you feel when you saw it or what was the first thing that came to your mind when you saw it?
To be sincere with you, when I saw the sacrificial form I was
disappointed. Yes, disappointed and sad and I really hoped Pst Adeboye would address it
personally.
But so far, according to popular blogs, RCCG have distanced themselves from it.
I am not against giving sacrificially but the different categories of blessings with their price tags, that’s where I have a problem. It is so wrong and unbiblical.
It's because of things like this that people don't speak well of Christianity. They think we are a bunch of fakers and money mongering thieves who are out to exploit, manipulate and rid people of their hard earned money. We know very well there are churches like that everywhere.
What's the result of this? It makes it difficult for people to come to Jesus because we who ought to represent Him are not giving them any reason to come to Christ. Our lives are no different from theirs.
When you give, please keep these rules in mind:
1. You can't buy God's blessings with money.
2. Your giving shouldn’t be based on the things you would get from God but first out of your love and devotion for Him; as an act of worship. But be sure that when you give, God will give you back in bountiful measure.
3. Give cheerfully from your heart; not out of compulsion or coaxing. Give because you want to give. Only then is it acceptable to God.
4. It isn’t the quantity or amount we give but the quality. A qualitative giving comes from the heart. The heart is what God looks at not the amount of money.
For instance, the widow's mite. Jesus considered her gift the greatest though in quantity it was the smallest. All the others gave out of the abundance of their wealth (they had enough to spare) but the widow gave all she had. It took a heart that loved God to give practically everything one had.
5. Give according to what you have. Some people borrow to give in church. This is so wrong. If you don't have, give the little you can afford. God who sees your heart will bless you so you can give more.
6. Your heart matters when you want to give to God. If you want empty your bank account in the name of sacrificial giving, if your heart isn’t right; if your motive is wrong, Sweetheart, you are wasting your time.
Give from the genuineness of your heart. God is not a man so He doesn't see things the way man does. He sees the heart that accompanies each giver and blesses accordingly. The measure you give is the measure you receive. It's all about your heart.
God is more interested in our hearts than our money. Give Him your heart then you can give Him your money.

I love what mother Theresa said and I quote:
