A female blogger shared this online and the post went viral receiving over 70,000 shares and 7,000 comments.
But the irony is that it didn't go viral because women loved or agreed to what was said in the post but rather because they hated and it made them angry.
In fact one woman's comment went like this:
FIXED IT: Do you “expect” your husband to help w/ household chores? If you do, you would be right, b/c he lives there, too. If he helps, great, & if not, not great. Talk to him as you would unto anyone treating you like a free cleaning service. Remember, you didn’t marry your husband to help with the household chores. You married him to be your husband, so he should just help because he isn’t a lazy person that was just looking for a new mommy. Make his life as easy and as happy as you can, as he should do for you as well because marriage is a partnership, not indentured servitude.
I personally know that we usually have our 'expectations' from our spouses and when those expectations are not met, it can put a strain on our relationship.
It's normal to have expectations but we shouldn't allow it take a toll on our married relationships. Sometimes what your spouse may need is a gentle nudging. That's why communication is important in marriage.
But if after talking to him and he still does not budge, oh well, pray for him and carry out your duty cheerfully while at it (E no dey easy shaa because we need all the help we can get. Lol). Maybe one day, God will make him see reasons with you and he will come around.
So what do you think?
