Was doing a research for my novel when I came across these photos and I was like, "Wow, mehn, Nigerians get dress sense o even as far back as 1950s."
These photos were taken in the 1950s by a Nigerian photographer Solomon Osagie Alonge(1911-1994). He was the official photographer at the Royal Court of Benin.
Really, looking at these pictures took me down memory lane to a time I had never been and will never be. One question in my mind was,"Where are these people? They breathed. They walked . They lived but where are they now?"
Time is passing and so do the people. If Jesus tarries, one day we too will be like the people in these pictures. The people in future will look at us and wonder what it was like in our time. What exactly are you living for? What legacy would we leave behind? Are you pursuing 'That' which really matters? Have you considered that life here is temporary? Have you really thought about eternity?
Man is but a Sojourner on earth. Beauty fades and flowers wither...

*Pursue that which truly matters. It's NOT money nor beauty nor sex nor houses nor power nor children nor wealth. Pursue God. Put Him first in all you do. Let Him be the reason you are here. Show it by glorifying Him with your life!
