Parents are willing to pay as much as $3,500 (£2,500) for an expert to have the sex talk with their children. This is the story of a a mom and dad who have struggled to talk to their children, an 8 Y-O boy and a 7 Y-O girl, by themselves as they don't trust their school to do a good job at it.
The advert, listed on Childcare.co.uk, says the professional will be needed to teach the children “about the complexities of puberty, intimacy and consent”.
Part of the “education” will include the topics of sex (from foreplay to penetration), rape culture, periods and masturbation.
They also hope the topic of gender will be discussed, including transgender and non-binary, which they admit they would “really struggle” with if they had to cover themselves.
*In a world that is fast changing, and sex issues are becoming pretty ambiguous it actually is very important as parents we begin the sex talk with our children earlier. Yes, we will have to put it in a way their young mind will understand without being too graphic.
I believe parents are the best people to have the sex talk with their children and as Christians, let the Word of God be the foundation of such talk. Let's make them see sex the way God sees it and use it the way God created it to be used.
While the world teaches their children about sex and how to play safe, we should be teaching our children sexual purity and how and why they should stay sexually pure.
When we train up our children the way they should go, they won't depart from it even when they are old. Sex education in the Christian home starts by laying the right foundation - the Word of God.
Let's not leave our parenting jobs to the experts, to the school or to the teachers. Your children look up to and I believe you are the best person to have that intimate talk with them.
