This heartbroken mother choose to sleep alongside her 25 yr old son who is addicted to synthetic cannabis, so much so she bought a sleeping bag and blanket to camp alongside him.
She makes the frequent trip from her home city of Brisbane, Australia, to Melbourne, where Dan sleeps on the streets, to watch over him and make sure he is safe.
Dan had a privileged upbringing, went to a private school and enjoys yearly foreign holidays but no thanks to his addiction which sent him off to the streets and has since refused to get help.
This is so sad.
*This story is so much like telling about God's love for us. God has given us a privileged life in Jesus. He has given us everything that pertains to life and godliness, but we say no, we choose the 'addiction to sin' which drives us out of all He has wrought for us to enjoy into the streets of this world.
When Dan smokes cannabis, he thinks it's heaven but it's all an illusion. That's what sin offers us - an illusion, when we are actually grovelling in bondage and suffering.
And like Dan's mother God is always there reaching out to us to please come back home.
I hope Dan realizes what he is putting his poor mother through, gets help and goes back home to his once beautiful life.
For a mother to leave her good life just to stay by her son on the streets with a heap of garbage for a seat and a sleeping bag for a bed, that's love. That's sacrifice...
God gave His ONLY begotten Son for you and me (John 3:16)
