I have learnt a whole lot these past few weeks. It's amazing how you study the Scripture and each time you go back there is always something new. It never grows old.
So allow me share some few 'revelations' from today on. Jesus described the kingdom of heaven with this parable in Matt 13:44-46
So allow me share some few 'revelations' from today on. Jesus described the kingdom of heaven with this parable in Matt 13:44-46
44 “The kingdom of heaven is like
treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and
then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.
45 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. 46 When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it.
Here is what I got: The kingdom of heaven is like a choice pearl. Nothing matters to you but that singular pearl. You will give anything or sell everything just to have that pearl when you find/discover it.
You give up your worldly 'enjoyment' because you have found something you consider much more valuable. Moses did.
If the farmer didn't value that pearl, he wouldn't have sold everything he owned to purchase it. How much do you value God and His kingdom? How much (sacrifice) are you willing to give to keep it?
When Esau sold off his birthright to witty Jacob over a mess of stew just because he was hungry, it showed how much value he placed on something as important and destiny-defining as a birthright. He had no value for it!
And because of this very act, heaven proved him unworthy of it and denied him the blessings that come with his birthright but thank God there was a way out - GRACE. When Isaac told him, "but when you become restless, you will break his yoke off your neck," that was the way out. It's called a second chance and that's what grace is all about.
Esau could regain his freedom again if he wants to. So in the midst of darkness (eg results of bad decisions) created by us, God offers us HOPE.
Any time we make wrong decisions like Esau, God always gives us a way out when we realize how wrong our decisions have been. Before Esau will grow restless, he must first come to realize how sinful his action has been, repent of it before a break away can occur.
It takes a man who has recognized the gravity of his wrong decisions to grow restless. In his restlessness will his deliverance come.If you find yourself in the shoe of Esau, there is hope and a way out for you. It doesn't matter what crazy wrong decisions you may have made in the past, God can take care of it if you give it to Him with a repentant and contrite heart.
God can't despise a repentant and contrite heart (Psalm 51:17). It always gets to Him. There is a second chance for Esau!
