The Church is not as it used to be in the time of the early apostles. Ever wondered why?
We no more walk in power like in those days when unbelievers dared not enter our meetings anyhow because they were too scared!
What happened to us? Or is it not the same Holy Spirit that operated then that still operates now?
SIN. Sin has weakened the Church. Secret sin has robbed us of the kind of power we should be enjoying as a Church.
These times a pastor can committing adultery and still go up to the pulpit to preach the gospel of righteousness.
You will be surprised how many Christians that secretly watch pornography.
Someone told me how a little girl was playing with her dad's phone during church service and somehow happened upon porn videos in his mobile phone...in church! You can just imagine that scenario. The lady who noticed what the child was watching on her dad's phone had to tap her dad, "Oga, please collect your phone."
And this man is a Christian and probably Born again! It saddened me when I heard this.
Sexual immorality, greed, secret sins have weakened the Church. With a buried lifestyle of sin, we limit the work of the Holy Spirit among us. Then the world makes fun of us. They call us hypocrites because they have 'Christian' friends who do exactly what they are doing.
What is wrong with us?! Where did our love for Jesus go? The proof of our love for Him is by obeying His commandments. A true disciple does what His Master asks him to and God's standard on sex remains the same yesterday, today and forever.
When we do something wrong, our normal response as children of God is to repent of it and never go back to it but these days, it's different. You know you are doing something wrong, you continue in it and cover up your sins. In fact you even lie on top of it that you don't do it. There is no remorse. No sense of guilt.
This is very same thing Jesus died for - to save you from your sins and yet we feel that grace is made available so we can continue in the life of iniquity, fornication, adultery, greed, etc. That is an abuse of grace.
Grace is given to us, to help those who genuinely want to walk in God's will not those who want to take it for granted.
Don't dare God! I pity so called Men of God who sleep around and yet climb up the pulpit to preach. I pity Men of God who reap off their congregation to enrich themselves.
They live the luxurious life and show off properties and personal effects worth millions on social media yet there are people in their congregation who don't have a job; who can't afford even 2 triangular meals in a day.
Woe betide every so called Man of God who stands at the pulpit to preach what he does not practice. Those words will judge you in the end. Step away from that place cos it's a terrible thing to take God's Name in vain. We know what happens when one offers a strange fire on God's altar.
My heart is saddened by the things I see and hear in Church. And if you love God you will feel the same way too.
Pray for the Church for the enemy has sown tarts among the wheats. I also encourage you not to succumb to the devil's lies that "everybody is doing it, including your pastor."
But is your pastor your Standard or is Jesus your Standard? Jesus is the ONLY one you should look on to and how He wants us to live is written in His Scriptures and no where else.
Pray for the Church.
