Germanwings Co-pilot Killer was mentally ill, unknown to his bosses

It was reported that the co-pilot who flew a Germanwings plane into the Alps killing everyone on board had broken up with his fiancée just one day earlier. He and his girl friend had been together for 7 years and planned to get married sometime next year. It was reported that Andreas Lubitz was a tormented and erratic man who was a master for hiding his darkest thoughts. According to daily mail, his former girl friend revealed that he would wake up from nightmares screaming 'we're going down'.She told a German newspaper how Lubitz ominously told her last year: 'One day I will do something that will change the whole system, and then all will know my name and remember it.' When she heard about the crash of Germanwings Flight 4U9525 on Tuesday, she remembered Lubitz's menacing prophecy. 'I never knew what he meant, but now it makes sense,' she told Bild.

From on-going reports, Lubitz kept a deadly secret from bosses that could have prevented the needless deaths of all 150 on board Flight 9525. Two separate doctors signed the 28-year-old co-pilot off sick for the day he plunged the Germanwings Airbus 320 into a mountain after locking his captain out of the cockpit.

But he never told his superiors he had been deemed unfit to fly as he feared he would be stripped of his pilot’s licence because of a history of depression and kicked out of the job he lived for.
