A must read true story:The Trend of the 'Runs girl' Part 1

Someone sent in this story. He said this is exactly what was happening in his school and I believe in every tertiary institution too. That's how bad things have gotten. Read his story below:

Good day folks!
Prostitution now has a new name. Majority of our girls who do get involved in the latest trend of offering sex for money now politely distinguish themselves from the road side, old school prostitutes by operating under the fancy name of ‘Runs girls’. Prostitution is nothing new and it continues to grow. It really is overwhelming how most female students are getting involved in this new trend of prostitution operating within our universities under the guise of runs girls.
Writing specifically from the south-eastern part of Nigeria and also a student of one of the most prominent Universities in the east I hate to say that the rise of the runs girls has become a major issue, that one can never overlook any longer as it has slowly drifted from the hotel rooms straight into our school hostels.
Being in my final year, I would not say I haven’t actually encountered a runs girl but to reside in the same hostel with one is a totally different story. Recently, a set of university freshers packed into my hostel. It was business as usual with rushing for lectures and wanting to meet up with every requirement needed by the school authorities.
Being very observant and cautious about people who live around me, I couldn’t help but notice the different lifestyles exhibited by these new freshers. Most appeared normal, some neutral, and few appeared poisonous. These few were smaller in number but the events that trailed them… Lord have mercy! Majority of these few were females whose lifestyles have intensively caused me to look deeply into the story of runs girls. My hostel has always been normal, free of such people and the stories that go with them until recently.
Chi Chi, a 2nd year student of the department of medical laboratory who we all assumed to have probably made it through the 1st year of medical school began crusading silently at first for girls like herself who wanted to make quick money by living off wealthy men,offering them sex in exchange for the ‘papers’. The story of her crusade started like a rumor from outside my hostel until I discovered they were actually true.Chi Chi was not shy about her motives and tentacles spread even into my hostel. She actually was a runs girl who made out with top and influential politicians who in turn would pay her heavily to mobilize young ladies greedy enough to join her in the venture. She actually started gaining grounds within my hostel. She had been an expert in this business since her first year. She teamed up with another 2nd year medical student who goes by the name Toto. Toto can easily be described as ‘a green slimy snake in the green slimy grass’. She was beautiful and had a very lovely appearance which I would say was her selling point. She openly claimed to be the daughter of a rich politician and what have you. Well, from sources close to her background, her Dad was no more than a hard working public servant who was struggling to feed his family, even to the extent of finding it hard to pay off the one year hostel rent of Toto after 7 months of her moving in.
Toto had been a high patronizer of every top hotel located in the main university campus in her year 1 before proceeding to the college of health. Her constant trips every weekend and party madness had actually given her away on various occasions making it understandable why Chi Chi found in her a worthy team mate. Chi Chi was no different in terms of background from Toto. They simply had to SURVIVE! And to survive, they simply had to become runs girls.
As of time of writing this article, the fangs of these runs girls have dug so deep as most female students are spotted at random openly boasting about carousing top politicians, lecturers, and even their fellow male students simply for the sake of making the 'papers'. Most of these girls come from not well to do homes, are materialistic and not contented with the little they have. Despite their poor background, they put on the latest wears, use the latest handsets etc. All thanks to the ‘hustle papers’. However, despite the painted luxury they put on, their poor backgrounds resurface. Of course hustle money doesn’t last forever. I remember Toto, despite all this, feeds constantly on biscuits and soft drinks. She goes about borrowing foodstuffs from door to door. So much for the daughter of a rich politician. And Chi Chi? Always putting on the same shirt and shorts every single day.
These two friends did a good job of covering their tracks up. They mobilize girls under the guise of campaigning for models who in the real sense are meant to warm the beds of wealthy politicians or simply to have random sex with just anybody and then get paid. A friend of mine have often disclosed to me that the sex workers’ albums sent to most hotel rooms far from our campuses had the pictures these girls in it.
In as much as the operations of the runs girls are done coded, the tales has actually left me with one truth: that these runs girls are no other but everyday people like you and I.


Hmmm , this lifestyle is now a norm and every parent have the responsibility of keeping an eye on their children, correcting them in love and praying for them.
