Chelsea, the daughter of the former U.S. President Bill Clinton, on Jan 2 exchanged happy new year wishes with the church of Satan.
The controversial tweet came after series of tweets between Chrissy Teigen, Hooters, Chelsea Clinton and a right-wing conspiracy theorist. Not passing up on the opportunity after Chelsea mentioned the church of Satan in a tweet, they responded by saying “The never ending excitement here is never ending.”
Chelsea then tweeted a response, "It's been so long! Happy New year!" to which the church of Satan replied right back, "Same to you, here’s to a great 2018!"
Chelsea Clinton has since denied any affiliation with the church of Satan. She said she does not practice Satanism after a Trump supporter on Twitter took the former first daughter's exchange of New Year's wishes with the Church of Satan to mean she was affiliated with the group.
“I’m a Methodist & my husband is Jewish, thank you for asking,” Clinton responded to the woman.
