Most often, Christians have this belief that one has to have some high
moral standards before the person can lead church activities, not
Prophet Alex Twum.
According to the prophet, there is nothing wrong if a secular musician wants to use his God-given talents to praise and worship God.
Speaking on Accra-based Zylofon FM Prophet Alex Twum stated that it’s wrong for other church members to act rude and ‘someway’ when secular musicians come to church. He said:
“If Shatta Wale comes to tell me God has touched his heart to sing a worship song, I’ll be so glad and allow him to minister to God’s people,” Prophet Ale Twum revealed.
“The Bible says we shouldn’t judge so I can’t speak against the talent of any secular artiste. Most of the songs by these artists inspire so many people because of the words in it. I don’t know why some Pastors will prevent such people from attending their church…”
“When you read 1 Corinthians, it talks about the gifts from God. If Kojo Antwi should lead a worship in my church and goes ahead to compose his love songs, I see nothing wrong with it,” he said.
Prophet Alex Twum further added, "If a pastor tells a member who does secular music not to help the church with his or talents, then that pastor isn’t matured enough. We’re all learning and there’s no one perfect so such pastors should be very careful."

*There are spiritual gifts and there are natural God-given talents. The spiritual gifts are purely given for two things - perfecting/equipping of the saints for the work of the ministry and for edifying/building up of the body of Christ (Eph 4:12).
What's the goal of these spiritual gifts? To bring us "to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children tossed to and fro and carried away by every wind of doctrine..."(Eph 4:13,14)
These spiritual gifts can only be expressed by a born-again, Spirit-filled Christian; by someone who is saved, who has declared Jesus as his Lord and Savior. These spiritual gifts, given by God through His Holy Spirit to us, are used in 'ministering' to the Church, not 'entertaining' the Church.
That's why it's important you watch who ministers at your altar. If we allow unsaved secular artists unto our altars, how does that glorify God? How does that edify the Church?
You want to call it being judgmental? I call it God's infallible Word. My utmost desire is for these ones to know Jesus and then come to church and minister. Worldliness has crept into the Church so bad that even the world finds it hard to differentiate between us and them. Smh.
