The secret is in getting to know God better and better for as you do, not only will you enjoy more of His kindness and peace, He will also give you everything you need for a truly good life.
So Secret #3 cuts into two parts; both material and immaterial.
Now, how do we get to know God better and better? Let's look at this picture:
If you decide today that you want to know President Buhari better, what will you do? Definitely you won't fold you hands and wait. You will be up and about reading books about him, listening to his speeches, if possible meet him etc.
Just the same way, the knowledge of God won't drop from heaven. You will need to take practical steps everyday to learn about Him.
Please note: not occasionally, not seasonally, not when you feel like it, but everyday!
That's why some Christians' Word level is depleted and when our Word level is depleted, so is our faith and so is our spiritual strength. Pastor Chris said, "God doesn't want to give you cars, or money, or houses. What He wants to give you is the Word of God in your spirit!" I love that.
It's God Word that makes us realize who we are - sons. It's His Word that makes us spiritually mature and take no nonsense from the devil. It's His Word that energizes us to walk in power and dominion. We don't live in fear. Satan and his little juju tricks don't move us.
But how can you be all this if you don't get to know God more and more? In knowing Him more everyday is the secret to both material and immaterial blessings. So will you practicalize it and set on the journey of discovering God everyday? Study your Bible...carefully, as if you are preparing for exam. *wink*
Get to know God by making out time for Him. By studying His Word. Spending quality time at His feet. Listening to Him. Fellowshiping with Him through prayer. Fellowshiping with other Christians.

It really pays to be a God pikin! But quoting a pastor without letting us know the particular pastor being quoted somehow makes me feel you are hiding something knowing full well we have a lot of 'them' pastor Chrisssssss. So which of them did you quote up there?

ReplyDeleteHnmmm i"m inspired by this i must say but most times when i make up my mind to study God's word, pray and fellowship with Him, i feel tired and don't know what else to say especially when reading His word, i'll just sleep off. I'll keep trying cos i just need for of God at this very stage of my life. I love Him and i want to keep showing Him how much i do, by constant fellowship with Him. Thank you for tjis eye opener.

When I was in d University, I went to visit a sister in her hostel. This sister told me she had a problem with studying d Word. She studies and studies and it seems she doesn't understand. I simply told her, "keep studying it, even if u don't understand keep looking at it! One day, the message will come to you."
