I know some couples will find this a hard one to swallow...*wink*
Yesterday, during the Sunday service as she spoke on the topic 'Love indeed is the greatest', Sarah Omakwu, the senior pastor of Family Worship Centre Wuye Abuja said,
"Couples, until you are one in your money, you are not truly one."
She went on to expatiate that it's not enough that married couples should wear uniform and come to church, that they should also have one bank account and eat out of that one account.
Sounds like a lot, right? But I believe she is trying to rule out the 'his money-her money' mentality that some couples have where they see the money they make individually as their own personal property which their spouse have no right to.
Pastor Sarah wants couples to see the money they each make as belonging to their spouse also, thus pooling it together in a singular account to which they both have full and unrestricted access to.
In this way, the marital bond and trust between married couples can blossom.
