He was an atheist more than 30 yrs ago. In 1982 he sat on the edge of his dorm bed and said, 'God, if you're real, change me.' And he did. From that moment on he started sharing his faith with others and started living for Jesus.

His name is Pastor David Ireland. He said that as a former atheist he understands nonbelievers and doesn't take it personally when they question God because, according to him, they do so because they're really just searching for greater meaning and purpose in their own lives; searching and looking for answers. So usually their argument is a defense mechanism.
