One of the reasons why I choose these stories is for it to serve as an eye opener to us on what is happening right in the church so that we can make corrections and change.
According to a reliable source,a church located in Asaba ,Delta state had about 49 shops to lease out. Forms were sold to people who were interested in obtaining the few shops for #1000. Knowing so well that they had limited shops available, they went on to sell the forms to over 500 people. At the end of the day, they gave out the shops to just 49 people. There was no refund whatsoever. So please tell me: Why would a church continue to sell their forms knowing fully well that the available shops were few? Is this not sheer wickedness? We remember the incidence of the recruitment into Nigeria Immigration Service that went wrong last year? This same people who did this must have lashed out and condemned the action of the NIS yet they turn around and do exactly the same thing to people who trust them and look up to them as examples.
How can people prey on the very people that they ought to protect? This story makes me so angry.I wish the affected people would stage a mass protest or send a report to the Bishop? That church needs to be taught a lesson.
