Incest is sexual relations between people who are so closely related e.g parent, child, sibling, cousin or grandchild. This is another vice that is fast spreading.
These days you hear lots of stories about GSA (genetic sexual attraction), the common term they use to justify this abomination. I once wrote about it here.
As abominable as incest is, just like homosexuality, it's actually legal in some countries.
Let's start with Sweden.
Sweden: Incest with a descendant or full sibling is prohibited but half siblings (siblings that share one biological parent) can marry with special approval by the government.
In fact recently, the youth wing of the Swedish liberal people's party pushed for legalization of incest between siblings and necrophilia.
France: Consensual incest between siblings is frowned upon, but not prohibited.
New Jersey USA, Japan, Belgium, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Russia, China, South Korea, Turkey, Côte d’Ivoire, Brazil, Argentina and several other Latin American countries: Consensual adult incest is also not a crime.
It is said that most countries do not support sibling marriages legally as there is a high chance of birth defects.
*Societal degradation is caused by lack of morals. A society where abominations are celebrated and the abnormal accepted normal. Thank God for His Word that guides us to live.

Hmmmmm! Only God knows best, because in the bible they were always marrying from there blood line. Isaac married from his uncle's house, Jacob married his uncle's children(2 sisters). Even their father Abraham the same thing. So most of these things are confusing. God always advised them in OT to go and marry from their blood line but not necessarily their sisters or brothers. Then again you forgot to add Nigeria, in Abia state i.e Abriba and Item all those areas marry within there family.In Abriba, If you are a girl your father's brother can marry you but your mother's siblings cannot.
ReplyDeleteYou are so right. There are definitely some incestous relationships in the Bible eg Abraham marrying his half sister Sarah, Cain marrying his sister, even the parents of Moses were closely related also but note that they occured before the Law was given.
ReplyDeleteIn Leviticus 18 and 20, God isdued the Law against incest to Moses and the entire Israel. The punishment for incest was death. So you see, it holds dire consequnces. It is abominable before God.
So it's inexcusable. God's Word has made it clear that incest is abominable.
Someone said in response to the question of incest in d Bible that 'the key point is that sexual relations between close relatives must be viewed differently pre-Law and post-Law. It did not become “incest” until God commanded against it.'
Whatever happens, no matter which tradition may condone it, incest is wrong. God's Word remains the standard.
