Meet the man who played Jesus in the Passion of the Christ. He said that his Hollywood career was wrecked because of it
Yesterday was resurrection Sunday and mehn, did I feel good?!
Thinking of all the wonderful things Jesus did for us by His death and resurrection is completely mind blowing. I was so proud of my Jesus, so proud.
It was super exciting watching the clips of Jesus from the movie 'Passion of the Christ'. Who doesn't know this movie? Then my curiosity peaked concerning the man who acted Jesus in that Mel Gibson's classic 2004 movie and I wanted to know more about him.
It will amaze you what I found.
Actor Jim Caviezel played the part of Jesus. But one surprising thing was that Mel Gibson, who offered him the role, warned him against taking it because he would never work in Hollywood again. Why is that? Does it even make sense?
And true to word, acting Jesus made Jim become irrelevant in Hollywood.
Jim Caviezel whose initials is same as Jesus Christ (JC) also played the Jesus' role when he was 33 yrs old.
He claimed his Hollywood career was wrecked by playing Jesus. He said he was ‘rejected in my own industry’, offers had dried up and he is shunned by many within the industry. Why is that?
In fact, prior to his playing Jesus, Jim was doing pretty well in Hollywood. Despite the fact that he knew playing Jesus was going to be risky yet he did it all the same because of his faith and he has no regrets.
Jim attested to miracles happening on set while shooting the Passion of the Christ.
At times during filming, he felt a great presence come within him. At a time, he was struck by lightning and a Muslim, one of the guards who beat him, converted.
On set, this prayer had always helped him, 'I don't want people to see me. I just want them to see Jesus. And through that conversions will happen.'
*Why should acting Jesus cause this Jim to be shunned? Why would Mel offer him a role and at the same time want to talk him out of it?Mel even warned him before hand that it will destroy his career. Is it not strange?
It is a dangerous thing to be like Jesus in this world. Men, colleagues, friends will literally turn their backs on you as long as you decide to be like Him. Didn't Jesus say so Himself?
Glorifying Jesus had never gone down well with occultic Hollywood.
Though the torture Jim went through in the movie was real, let me say this: it is impossible to act what Jesus went through for us. Totally impossible.
God bless Jim for his sacrifice.
