The fear of the 'ember months...you scared too?

I walked down a busy road in Nnewi, which by the way is called Taiwan of Nigeria because of their popular spare parts ‘bi-zi-ne-si’. Lol.  Littered on nearly every wall were posters for church programs from different types of ministries: Fire for Fire ministries, God’s power deliverance ministries, Jehovah the battle axe ministries…hah, I tire!  My curious eyes caught some of the headlines for their program: ‘Pray against the spirit of ‘ember month’, ‘Accident will not be your portion this ember month’, ‘You will live and not die this ‘ember month' blah blah blah.
It left me wondering why people think there's something wrong with the ‘ember months. Why all this hype, this culture of fear? Why do people feel the need to be delivered from the ember month spirit like there were some pack of demons waiting to attack?


For some people, the number of deaths, accidents , rituals, kidnaps or mishaps associated with the ever busy ember months is seen as spiritual attack so they look for solutions and trust there are Pastors who are willing to offer that service. For these so called Pastors, this is nothing but business tactics.

 They feed off the ignorant people's fear to increase their congregation and their pockets by simply fueling their fear and subduing them with it when they come trooping to their ministries. Listen, it's not God's will for you to be afraid. So get rid of anything or anyone (even if it's your pastor) that induces you to fear. What you really need is God's Word in your spirit not deliverance services.


I just want to say beware of these deceptions. There is nothing to be afraid of. This period is just like any other and the God who kept you till now will keep you to the end. Just be careful and alert. Beware of these commuter bus drivers/okadas who are in a hurry to make extra cash for Christmas so they drive/ride roughly endangering the lives of many. God will lead you on your way but He can’t do that with fear etched in your heart.


Have I said welcome to the ember months? Lol. We are just 3 months away from Christmas! Praise God!

    As a Christian we should not be afraid, fear of the ember month is for unbelievers, if you have accepted Jesus as your saviour, you would not be scared of mere months.

When I saw this, it made me shudder . The message was so blatant and it was on a children's cartoon. The scene showed two nude male and female characters, with the female holding the male' s genital. But from what I 'heard', it see ms to be the handiwork of some perverts who took a sce ne from a popular cartoon program - teen titans and cre ated that pict ure which is actually a link to a cartoon porn site.     A porn site with cartoon characters...who is their ta rget?
