Have you ever thought there was something disrespectful about tattooing
the body? I did my research on it and this is what I pulled:
Tattooing is claimed to have existed since 12,000 yrs BC. Tattoos have always had an
important role in ritual and tradition. It’s got from the word Tatu meaning to
‘mark something’.
A famous witch/author Laurie Cabot wrote that the origins of tattooing came from
ancient and magical practices. It has been believed that the wearer of
an image calls the spirit of that image.
According power verbs, tattoo
bears the mark of paganism, demonism, Baal worship, shamanism, mysticism,
heathenism, cannibalism and just about every other pagan belief known.
The
tattooist, shaman or the occult priest many times uses the tattoo as a point of
contact, or inlets into the spiritual world thus it is much more than just a
body decoration. It was a vehicle for pagan spiritual and religious invocations
and is believed to be a bridge into the supernatural world.
Tattooing
marks a rite of passage at a stage of life, calling the spirits,
proudly, defiantly or sneaky showing who you are via body art.
Pastor John Hagee said, “It is wrong to tattoo our bodies because our bodies
belong to the LORD. If God wanted a graffiti on it (your body ) He would have
done it Himself.” See Lev 19:28 ‘…do not mark your skin with tattoos.’
Heaven has a culture and tattooing is not one of them. So even though today many see tattoos as a mere body decoration, let’s bear in mind its origin and also the fact that tattoos disrespect
your body which ought to be God’s Temple. Do not reduce it to a wall of art.
