What would you do in face of a storm? How would you respond to a totally hope less situation?
Sometimes we read the Bible like we are reading a storybook. But it's not! Men of faith had gone through a lot, name them: Abraham, Joseph, David etc. Terrible life storms had hit them but they still stood and today we read about them like it's just a story.
Imagine
being David. It took you three days to journey home only to find that
all that you loved have been taken from you. All.
You don't know whether
they were killed or maimed or raped. And in the midst of this weariness
and confusion, your very own loyalists, people who ought to be your
friends are threatening to kill you.
Put yourself in David's shoes, what will you do? How will you respond?
But see what David did:
Having no
one to encourage him, David turned to the LORD for strength and
encouragement. He strengthened himself in the LORD.
He must have
retreated within himself and reminded himself of God's mercy and how
again and again God has helped him overcome.
He didn't ask God why he
would allow this situation befall him.He didn't blame God for his misfortune, rather he simply prayed, "Lord should I
pursue? Will I overtake and recover all?"
God told him to go ahead and
he did. It's on record he recovered every single thing; that not one of
them was touched.
Don't sit down and blame God for your woes or your storms, they will come but bear one thing in mind - He will help you recover everything you may have lost if only you have faith.
Faith is the best way to respond to your storms. As long as Jesus is in the boat of your life, it is impossible for your boat to sink. Quote me.
