I have so much wanted to write about this Big Brother Naija show currently going on in South Africa. It's funny a Nigerian show is taking place in another country, right? Lol.
Many people have decried the show calling it inappropriate and not fit to be aired.
But some people who see nothing wrong with it say, "If you are not happy with it, you have your remote. Change the channel!"
But that does not rule out the fact that Big Brother show is a spiritually unhealthy entertainment program.
Has there ever been a Big Brother show without sex, nudity and lewdness? Besides what exactly are they promoting? What message are they passing to the viewers?
Being a big brother contestant makes you an instant star. Even if you don't win or you only stayed in the house for just few days, you automatically become a celebrity.
The fact that someone would expose her breasts or have her breast sucked on live TV, or give someone a BJ when she knows the world is watching shows us the moral laxity of the society.
So it's not surprising that some people see nothing wrong with it.
And these contestants come out and they are being 'celebrated', going on media tours and being interviewed. It makes me ask, " But who are these people? What have they achieved? What exactly did they do?"
Immorality is being cheered on. That's what the world celebrates! It's a pity that even Christians do the same. We have become so complacent that we see nothing wrong with it.
It's okay to entertain yourself but it is also important what you entertain yourself with. Believe me, if you remove sex and lewdness from Big Brother, it will lose viewership and be considered boring. So this is the organizers of the program giving the world what they want to see - SEX.
So one of the specs of the show is the 'sexual drama' going on in the house.
The Big Brother show is every shades of wrong. It is an ungodly program that gives us a glimpse into the state of the society today. No sense of shame.
They say we Africans are conservative but Big Brother Africa and Naija reveals differently.
