'No, suicide doesn't lead inescapably to hell' - man responds to woman who says it does and explains why
This has been a topic of debate. Will a Christian go to hell after he commits suicide?
A pastor named Jarrid Wilson recently committed suicide. Speaking of him in church, Greg Laurie, the pastor where Wilson attended stated: He is in heaven now.
But another woman, Elizabeth, countered it saying:
Doesn’t scripture say that ‘no murderer will enter the kingdom of God?’ Isn’t suicide murder of one’s self? Doesn’t the Bible say that “murderers will have their part in the lake of fire”? Isn’t the last act of a person committing suicide, self-murder?”
Responding to Elizabeth, a man replies that suicide isn't murder but a crime of passion. He explained that Jarrid didn’t earn his salvation, that was Jesus – and NO amount of sin or mental illness or any other variable can EVER take that salvation away.
Jarrid’s eternity in Heaven has been secured by the blood of Jesus that covers his sin since by grace, through faith, in Christ alone, Jarrid was saved – and his life spoke to such redemption.
*Pst Jarrid Wilson before his death was a mental health advocate. I will reserve my opinion on this but feel free to share yours. Then maybe I can share mine too.
But whatever be the case, I don't dabble into judging. God knows. All I know is to do what His Word says I should do - love, love, love. He alone knows His own. He knows pastor Jarrid. He knows his motives and the intents of his heart. And I still believe the Word that by His stripes we were healed.
Sincerely this is a very sensitive issue and I feel for anyone going through this right now. There's nothing beyond the Name of Jesus. Be healed in Jesus' Name. Please do the right thing and talk to someone about your challenges.
All this advice sef...e dey tire. A mental health advocate committed suicide with all the 'formulars', the dos and the don'ts. What else can I say?
Be rest assured that your Father loves you sooooo soooo much. If you are going through this, look to Him. It's between the two of you. Hold on in faith and break free.
The reality is that some information are only privvy to the person and to God. We don't know everything.
Suicide is so wrong. It's not God's w toill for any man whatsoever. Lemme leave it here. Let me also say this: the doctrine of once saved, always saved is false. It is very possible to do all of this and still be disqualified. I didn't say it. Paul did.
1 Cor 9:27 says, "But I pommel my body and subdue it, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified."
May God comfort the people he left behind. Leave the judging of whether he goes to hell or not to God. It's His business not ours. Ours is to live for Him and love Him and love others.
By the time we start saying things like this, I hope some Christians won't begin to see suicide as a quick way to get away from their problems rather than dealing with them. "After all", they will say, "We will still end up in heaven." Hey! Nobody knows this. These people are probably speaking based on what they think they know. Stick to doing the right thing.
Please let's watch what we say and do the right thing. Nobody wants to be depressed or suicidal. But please if you find yourself in such situation, seek help and ultimately, talk to your Father. He loves you and doesn't want you to take your own life. He has great plans for you. Don't let the enemy steal it but whipering into your heart to cut your life short through suicide.
There are people who had survived suicidal thoughts! It can happen to anybody but I know there's a way out of it. Suicide should never be an option. Google for people who survived depression and suicidal thoughts or intentions and see what worked for them.
Please, please, please!
