Poverty really get levels o and this 52 yr old woman's story is painful.
Tara Devi, a deaf mute from India, was having severe gastrointestinal problems and was rushed to the emergency room where the doctors discovered something that looks like a large ball of hair in her stomach.
They initiated a surgery and found that what they had believed to be hair was actually a ball of tangled plastic threads from plastic gunny bags.
Some of the plastic threads that formed the bird nest-like mass clogging up the woman’s intestines were reportedly up to 7-feet long.
Since Tara couldn't speak, she could not explain how the plastics got to her stomach. It was the person who brought her that informed them that Devi is very poor, lives by herself and has no has no social support.
She had apparently been consuming plastic threads and bags out of hunger, for years, and she had recently developed a condition where her appetite disappeared completely and her limbs began to swell.
Devi's surgery was a success and her health is improving.
*I really wish that as Christians we should be more conscious of the people living around us. If only there was one kind neighbor who gave this woman something to eat once in a while...
Yeah, I know it's not easy carrying such a 'burden' but I find that you derive joy when you do good, when you give to people who can't give you back and better still, you know you please God when you do; that the Father smiles because of you.
LOVE LOVE LOVE, a very potent weapon in a time like this
