Have you noticed that day never goes by these days without a suicide story to cap it off? We need to be more sensitive to the times and the people around us.
Suicide has become people's easiest way to escape their problems but truth be told, that is just the beginning of it.
You know anyone suicidal?
Most times you don't know someone is until that one commits suicide. Depression, loneliness are the key factors that lead to suicide.
The suicide news have become so rampant these days most times because of relationship issues or hard times (erm...buhari times). Again and again, it reveals what the victim has made the center of his/her world.
What or who is the center of your world?
Man fails but God never does. The more reason why it is dangerous to make man the center of your world, the reason you breathe.
Do you know anyone suicidal?
It's not enough to tell the person, "It is well," and go away. Bring that person close and give him a hug. Show him that you genuinely care and assure him that everything will be alright.
Pray with him and allow him confide in you his worries. Listen to him, feel what he feels. By your actions make them see they are not alone, that someone genuinely cares for them.
Love them. Help them as much as you can.
This is who we are. That is what it means to be Christ-like. Meet the needs of this world and in so doing point them to Christ.
Most suicide victims would have been saved if only they had someone to listen and genuinely love them.
Get rid of their feeling of emptiness, hopelessness and loneliness by showing them genuine care, that they may get to know Jesus through the love you show to them at their lowest moment.
God will fill them up with His joy.
