Frank Edwards turned down a mouthwatering opportunity to be a GLOBAL MUSIC STAR. You will be amazed why...
When I listened to his story, I was wowed. It's a story of from grass to grace; from hawking to greatness.
You know, the journey isn't easy but when God has greatness in store for you He preps you for it by taking you through a process so that when you finally 'arrive' you will remember that you didn't get there by your power, that it was God who made it so.
I won't be sharing his full story now though, just an excerpt.
Frank's first album "The Definition' sold 100,000 copies on the first night at the Night of Bliss. After turning down the N1,000,000 offer by Loveworld records (he obeyed his mom by sowing the money as his first fruit), they took him to South Africa to shoot his very first video.
There in SA he met some people who offered to take his music all over the world but it had to be on one condition: Frank had to remove Jesus from his music and use God instead. In that way, they said, it will make his music globally acceptable so that those to whom the Name of Jesus is offensive can also be his fans. Wow.
Frank Edwards considered it o! Who wouldn't? With his kind of background and the impoverished past he was coming from, it was like the golden ticket to mega stardom. Very tempting.
Frank thought, "Well Jesus, God, not much difference. They are the same."
Then God spoke to him and said, "If you do this, you will not last. If you don't, whatever they promise you I will double it for you."
And Frank obeyed God and let the tempting offer go - an opportunity to become a international music star.
*But you know if he had accepted it, that was where he would have missed it. He may have his fame but he won't have his God. That's what happens to some Christians. They start off well but as they make progress, they miss it because they stopped listening to God and began to listen to greed, that yearn to be more!*
Today, Frank Edwards is not only one of the best gospel music acts in Nigeria and abroad, he lives in a house he did not build. He is also the vice president of the biggest record label in Africa, with Don Moen as the president.
Amazing. It pays to serve the Lord and I don't care what the world is saying.
*When the devil knows you are a step closer to your miraculous breakthrough, he presents you with a 'juicy' offer. Don't settle for less. Hold on and do it God's way.
