'No evangelizing outside church', according to Russia's proposed law in its latest move to ban the sharing of the gospel of Jesus.
Soon Christians in Russia won't be able to send their friends an invitation to church or evangelize in their own homes if Russia's newest set of laws are enacted.
The proposed laws place broad limitations on missionary work, including preaching, teaching, and engaging in any activity designed to recruit people into a religious group.
Citizen will have to secure a government permit through a registered religious organization before they can share their faith. And they cannot evangelize anywhere besides churches and other religious sites.
The restrictions even apply to activity in private residences and online.
Most of the evangelical leaders have expressed concerns about the proposed law, hoping that God will intervene in the process.
I love what one of them said concerning the proposal:
"If it will come to it, it's not going to stop us from worshiping and sharing our faith. The great commission isn't just for a time of freedom."
*In our world today, the greatest form of evangelism is LOVE. The Word of God cannot be bound in chains (restricted) despite these laws because through LOVE and genuinely caring for other peoples needs, people will be drawn to know our God.
Let love lead. Though they say we can't preach or publicly share the message of salvation, we can draw men to Jesus through love. They can't stop that. The world is needy.
The devil working extra hard to stop God's Word from being shared. You know why? Because the gospel is the power of God unto salvation to those that believe (Romans 1:16).
