I haven't heard of this pastor before I watched his video. His name is Pst Andrew Wommack. He was asked this very delicate question: If someone commits suicide, will they go to heaven?
And this was his reply,
"I personally believe suicide is a sin. But I don't believe it will keep a person from going to heaven. Our past, present and even future sins are forgiven. A person could go to heaven after committing suicide." Then he went on to assert, "but if the person isn't saved (that is,not a Christian), he will go to hell if he commits suicide."
That means a Christian can still go to heaven even if he dies in hotel room on top of a woman who isn't his wife? This reply left me shocked. I will call this false doctrine 101.
That our past, present and future sins have been forgiven? That means even after giving my life to Jesus, I can as well continue sinning because even my future sins have been paid for? It's a mis-use of Grace and it's a pity some pastors preach this fake message.
*Grace has been given to us to live free in righteousness not for us to be free to sin. It is not an opportunity to sin so don't mis-use it.
"... we were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh..." Gal 5:13
"For you are free, yet you are God's slaves, so don't use your freedom as an excuse to do evil." 1 Pet 2:16
I know that my past sins have been forgiven but saying that our future sins have been paid for only allows people to take God's grace for granted.
Study your Bible for yourself so you will not be carried away by every wind of doctrine. It will help you distinguish between the Truth and pseudo-truth.
So what do you think about Pst Wommack's assertion?
