In Afghanistan, there is a strange homosexual practice where grown men force young boys to dance in women's clothing before raping and sexually abusing them.
It is called bacha bazi which means 'playing with boys'. Note: Afghan women are not allowed to dance in public.
For centuries, Afghan men have taken boys, roughly 9 to 15 years old, as lovers.
Enayatullah, a 42-year-old in Baghlan province, told a Reuters reporter, "Having a boy has become a custom for us. Whoever wants to show off should have a boy." In fact, they see nothing wrong with the practice.
An Afghan expression goes: "Women are for children, boys are for pleasure," and though Islamic law also forbids homosexuality the pedophiles explain that it's not homosexuality because they aren't in love with their boys.
These young Afghan boys (usually orphans or from poor families) are sold to warlords and powerful businessmen to be trained as dancers who perform for male audiences in women's clothing and are then used and traded for sex.
Some of these wealthy men keep several bachas (boys) and use them as status symbols - a display of their riches.

One of the Bachas called Omid narrated how he started dancing at wedding parties at age 10 and afterward taken by rich and powerful men to a hotel, paid $2 for the night and gang raped.
An Afghan man known as "The German," who acts as a bacha bazi pimp,
supplying boys to the men said, "I go to every province to have happiness and pleasure with boys. Some boys are not good for dancing, and they
will be used for other purposes. ... I mean for sodomy and other sexual
activities."
Thousands upon thousands of little boys have been victims of serial rape over many years and the bacha bazi practice is on the increase over there. It's the modern day practice of sexual slavery and human trafficking.
