A 22 Y-O autistic woman was locked up in a cage and made to feed off her dead mom's ashes. Guess by who? Her own family!
The unidentified woman was given a bucket for a toilet and a plastic container filled with water. She was also shot with a BB gun and hit with a hammer.
But perhaps the most sick act was when she was allegedly made to pour her late mum's ashes into a bowl and scoff them with a spoon. Now five members of the family have been indicted.
Details of what went on have only just been released in the federal indictment.
The girl came under the care of Raylaine Knope when the victim's mother died in 2015 and she moved into a home on Rushing Lane, Amite.
"The plan of the conspiracy was for the co-conspirators to subject the victim to physical violence, threats of physical violence, psychological and verbal abuse, abuse of legal process and psychological manipulation to obtain uncompensated labor and services from the victim," officials alleged in the indictment.
It is claimed Raylaine Knope ordered her to sleep in a tent outside until she tried to escape and was moved to a shed, and finally the cage.
She was apparently made to work for the family, cleaning the trailer with a toothbrush and tongue, cut the grass with scissors and clean the septic system without gloves, tools or protective clothing, and starved if she failed to do it quickly enough.
Investigators told the station that said some of the harm done to the victim included Terry Knope smashing her hand with a hammer, shooting her with a BB gun and burning her hand with a lighter, which Bridget Lambert is accused of holding the victim's hand in place.
And the most horrific is when Raylaine Knope allegedly ordered the victim to open her mother's urn, pour the ashes into a bowl and eat them with a spoon as Raylaine Knope, Terry Knope, Jody Lambert and Taylor Knope watched.
*How deep does wickedness run in the heart of man?
"The heart of man is desperately wicked" Jer 17:9.
