The two blind men heard that Jesus was coming that way. They heard that the Answer to their life's problem is on His way to their side and they didn't want to miss the opportunity to receive from Him.
They definitely had heard of His conquests; how He healed the sick, raised the dead and fed five thousand with nothing but some loaves of bread and a few fish. So this was their time to receive their miracle.
Along came Jesus. And to ensure they don't miss Him, they kept crying out, "Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!"
But then, there will always be the crowd. Watch out for the crowd - those who believe nothing good can come out of you and your situation; those who do everything to discourage you; those who want to crush your faith; those who want to shut you up so as to stop you from stepping into your blessings; those who will ridicule you and make you feel hopeless and inferior; your detractors; those who make you feel your request is a nuisance and that your prayers will never be answered.
But those two blind men rather than be intimidated into not screaming out for their blessings, screamed even louder so their voice could be heard above everyone else' voice. That's PERSISTENCE.
And Jesus heard! He heard their faith in their voices. The King stopped and called to them. May the King stop on your behalf on account your faith in the Name of Jesus.
"What do you want Me to do for you?" He asked. That was an open check, to ask and receive automatically. If the Lord asked you the same, what would be your response?
They told Him their 'specific' need and He touched their eyes and were instantly healed.
Now, if the crowd had succeeded in shutting them up, these two blind men would have missed their precious life-changing blessing.
Don't let the crowd shut you up. Don't be discouraged when they laugh at you or mock you. They have one mission - to make you miss your blessing cos they know the answer is round the corner.
Scream louder. With every obstacle you face, let your voice be heard even all the more. The more they try to shush you, the louder you scream. The more they laugh, the more your push; the more they scream, the more you toughen up, the bolder you become.
The crowd is not just people. It could be a situation that can arise in our lives to discourage us and cause us to lose hope. Let's not give in or give up cause of them. If we do, we will miss the blessings God has already packaged and sent our way.
The tougher the situation is, the more we scream until Jesus stops on account of us because He heard our faith in our voices and our actions.
