Conversion therapy has been procured for homosexuals and transgender minors.
It is designed to alter the sexual orientation of young gay, lesbian, and transgender youths through the services of counselors and mental health professionals.
Albert Mohler, president of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, has suggested that the Church should not seek to convert homosexuals to heterosexuality.
He was opposed to reparative therapy, which involves changing a person's sexual orientation from homosexuality to heterosexuality, dubbing it a "superficial" approach.
Maintaining that homosexuality is sinful and marriage should only be defined as being between one man and one woman, Mohler went on to state, "We don't call people to embrace heterosexuality. … We call people to embrace Christian faithfulness. We don't think the main thing that is needed is merely repair but rather redemption."
*I believe that it all starts with redemption. Homosexuality is not a mental illness. Just like any other sin, it is spiritual. It's not something that can be 'shocked' out of the person. If you want fast from today till tomorrow but without redemption, it will make no sense.
It's not genetic either. That is to say, you were not born this way.
The cure for homosexuality is Jesus and it all starts in the place of salvation.
