When you look at someone you think everything is supposed to be okay with her. Ha! After all is she not Billy Graham's daughter! Not always so as we will see in this woman's story. That's why we need to pay attention even to our spiritual leaders. They also have issues they dealing with. But because we think they are their title and not humans like us, we neglect them while we saddle them with our own issues.
"I know what it's like to sit in the pew with a broken heart," says Ruth Graham, daughter of famed evangelist Billy Graham.
"I was breaking inside because of my husband's infidelity to me after 18 years of marriage. And I was devastated. But I didn't want people to know. So I sat there Sunday after Sunday with this broken heart. And it led to depression, serious depression. I had never known anybody depressed. I didn't know what it looked like, what the symptoms were. But it came to a point that one Sunday after church, I'd had enough. And I went home looking for razor blades. But there were no razor blades. But it was a wake up call to me that I needed help, that I couldn't fix it or cover it anymore."
Ruth reached out for help and she got the help she needed. Her marriage ended in divorce. Her first husband was given to pornography and he wanted to introduce it into their marriage because he believed it would help their sex life. She was 18 at the time.
She goes on to say that God can heal the broken pieces of our lives.
