I so much wanted to comment on what Pastor Charles Osasuwa, founder of Rock of Ages Christian Assembly Inc, said about God being a jealous God and doesn't approve of His children having other lords besides Him.
I marvelled at the ignorance of this pastor and was hoping another pastor would school him.
This pastor said tenants have landlords and this means they are serving another lord. Whaaat!!
He added that this makes it a sin to live in a rented apartment. Double whaaat!!!!
Let me plead on this pastor's behalf, kindly ignore this baseless idea. It has nothing to do with the Word of God. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with being a tenant.
It's okay if he was merely encouraging his congregation to plan having their own houses, but to say that it's a sin puts pressure and guilt on many who would foolishly believe what he is saying.
Firstly, he has no idea the difference between the Lordship of Jesus and being a landlord.
Jesus' Lordship is very spiritual. When we declare Him Lord over our lives we acknowledge His ownership and give up our personal rights. Yielding to the Lordship of Jesus Christ also involves total and unreserved obedience. If He is the Lord of our life, we are going to do what He tells us to do.
A landlord is merely a title given to someone who owns a house.
Even Sarah in 1Pet 3:6 called Abraham, lord. He was her husband and she recognized his position in her life and respected that. Nothing more.
Please these things are simple, biko. Let's stop making it complex.
Does this pastor stay in a hotel when he travels? Then he is sinning by staying there because he automatically has a landlord who owns that hotel. Mtcheeew!
I am seriously angry at the height of ignorance displayed by many pastors. They are creating confusion and putting people under pressure! That's not what God wants them to do.
Who on earth has never started off living a rented house? Even the very rich still have landlords. Their businesses may be situated in a building in Lekki or VI owned by another person. People have shops that don't belong to them. So they are sinning by renting their shops, abi?
Sincerely, this is the dumbest statement I have heard this year, and it came from a pastor unfortunately. See how his media even packaged the video, lol.
It is well. Please know God's Word for yourself. It will save you from a lot of deception and heartbreak💔.
Loads of love and hugs to go with it.
