I saw this report about the couple who were smooching in public space in Ikeja City Mall!! Yeah, I was upset and I will tell you why in a bit.
According to the online reports, the lovebirds couldn’t wait to get a room and decided to display their affections in public in full glare of Ikeja City Mall shoppers and staff.
Adegoke Pamilerin who shared the story, they “have stayed over 30 minutes at the same spot.. They’ve kissed and done everything possible .. the only thing left is for them to have sex on that spot…”
Now going through comments, it's no surprise that most people saw no wrong in what they did. In fact, they think by publishing it, you are intruding into their private space. Sad reality. This is where we are.
Things that naturally you won't see happening in full glare of the public is happening all around us. Even cross dressers/gays are coming out. They have become suddenly bold. You see lesbians, homosexuals in Nigeria flaunting their love on social media.
This couldn't happen 10 years ago. Bobrisky is being hailed for taking that bold step in 'being who he is' in a 'homophobic' country. Don't be surprised if tomorrow he gets an award for his 'heroism'. Smh.
I am upset that for more than 30 mins people watched this couple smooch. Where was the security or staff of Ikeja City Mall? Nobody could walk up to them and say, "Please, oga, madam, we have children here. Their are families here. If you want to do this, get a room or find the closest toilet or something!"
You laugh at this? This is a moral emergency. If this can be allowed to go on without calling the people involved to order, hmmm, tomorrow it will become public sex and people will still say, "It's their life!". If you are living your life, biko, consider how that life affects people around you, esp the children. Don't be selfish. These people have no idea the kind of society they are creating where no moral compass exists; where people want to be free to do as they like.
I am not against PDAs. But this one in particular has become so intimate and outright sexual that it shouldn't be done in public. Let's protect our children.
The society is changing and so is Nigeria. But one thing that can't change; that one thing that points us in the right direction even in the most confusing times in a confused world is the Word of God.
It remains the Standard. It guides how we live, what we do, what we say and how we think. That Word tells you to do what is right in a changing world. Stick with the Word.
God bless you.
